ONE DAY TUFTING WORKSHOP AT ELLE GALLERY + SHOP

Workshop Overview:

During this 5 hour workshop, you will learn all the needed skills for machine tufting and leave the class with a finished 15" x 15" tufted rug!

What we will cover:

- Material overview
- Tufting demonstration
- Open Studio time with tufting guidance
- Applying adhesive to your rug
- Backing techniques
- Carving techniques

Tools/Materials provided for duration of workshop:

cut pile tufting gun
tufting frame
assorted yarns
tufting cloth
rug adhesive
backing fabric
carving tools
yarn winder
rulers, marking pens, scissors

What you should bring:

Your design or an idea ready to freehand sketch on fabric. Email feliciajmurray@gmail.com a photo of your design at least 3 days before your class and I will have your design projected and ready to go!
I have plenty of yarn available to use in a variety of colors, but if you are wanting very specific colors, you can bring your own or email me ahead of time to see what I have available!

Parking :

Metered street parking in the neighborhood ( in front of the shop ) Monday - Sunday 7am - 7pm (4 hour max)

Open parking lot on Pine & 2nd average 10-$12 max.

Garage parking across the street from the shop average 10-$12 max.

Cancellation Policy:

Please notify by email if you need to cancel your workshop. If you are able to find someone to replace your spot, you will receive a full refund.

Less than 20 days before workshop: $100 will be refunded
7 days before workshop: non refundable.
If I have to cancel the workshop for any reason due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

I am an avid crafter and I loved this one day workshop to learn the basics of rug tufting! Felicia was a patient and kind instructor. The class was only 3 people so there was a lot of space to ask specific questions and get the guidance needed. Would highly recommend!

Had so much fun, learned a lot!

I took Felicia’s rug tufting workshop as a little bday gift to myself and I’m so glad I did! The space was inviting and bright, Felicia gives great instruction and has all the equipment and supplies on hand! It was really exciting to watch my work come to life and have a completed rug by the end of the session. I was so proud of my creation and my community was pretty impressed too! I had wanted to try tufting for a long time, and was great to learn from a local artist whose work I’ve already admired and appreciated. She offers so many resources after the fact took and is so genuinely interested in spreading the joy of her craft and helping others learn!

You have to take her class now before the word gets out about her tufting class!

I am a craftaholic and have taken practically every type of craft class in PDX over the years and this was my absolute favorite! I couldn’t believe how accomplished I felt with the end product and my beautiful rug! Not only was Felicia so sweet and knowledgeable, I loved how small the class was and reasonably priced compared to other classes in PDX. She also offers classes that fit your schedule. I am hooked on tufting and have already bought supplies to continue,!

Fantastic class!

Felicia is a wonderful teacher, deftly imparting her deep knowledge of fiber and tufting with a wise and gentle touch. I couldn't believe how quickly I moved into confident use of her equipment to create my own custom rug. Highly, highly recommend!

felicia was such a great teacher for a first time tufter such as me! we were able to use our own designs for the class, but she helped us tweak things a bit for a better final result. the instruction was clear and her guidance and demonstrations were clear and concise throughout the many steps. the result of the class was a completed rug that i am proud to display and show off! i’ve taken classes before where you bring home something that is incomplete or kind of janky. this class is the perfect balance of challenge and fun. i hope you will enjoy it as much as i did!

Amazing!

Me and my husband went to Felicia’s workshop. She is the sweetest teacher! We had an amazing time and came home with two rugs! I was initially intimidated because I haven’t done anything like this before but Felicia explained it very well and the process is very forgiving. Anybody can do it! If you’re thinking about it definitely sign up! I strongly recommend!
